Blazing fiddles on fire at Celtic Connections 2016

Blazin fiddles are an accomplished and richly diverse fiddle band who produce a well honed and balanced sound.... There was tight interplay, interwoven tunes with plenty of foot tapping and stomping. Their reels flow in crashing and resolution waves.

Music Photography 2015

I have attended some top gigs in 2015. Most memorably the legend voice that is 'Van Morrison' who takes both Irish and R & B soul to new levels. Just awesome!  Then Scottish indie rockers 'Idlewild' played their debut return gig at the O2 ABC Glasgow and played such an energized and fun gig. Top quality. Another memorable concert was the 'Punch Brothers' at the concert hall during Celtic Connections 2015 - their harmony singing and electrifying banjo playing was highly enjoyable. I also enjoyed wonderful singing at the Scottish A Cappella Championships St Andrews. Other quality concerts included the Alan Kelly band, the Dirty Beggars, and not forgetting the quality musicianship and singing at the  Transatlantic Sessions. I've been very fortunate and a big thanks to all these wonderful artists who entertain us so well!

Zink Zink ives in Bad Belzig, Germany. Zink worked in construction, waited tables, and was a secretary before working as a translator.  "There's never a market for true art," Zink told an interviewer, "so my main concern was always to have a job that didn’t require me to write or think.

Mugstock Music festival

A new boutique festival at Mugdock Country park
I arrived at Mugstock with the early buzz of participants, families and music fans. The new festival has been designed to have broad appeal with a mix of music for all tastes and ages from dancing funk, classic rock, dynamic guitars!  The festival provided a friendly and fun atmosphere and clearly a lot of thought has gone into the planning.
By five the Main Stage tent had developed a steam from the heat of bodies (or the steam machine!) in the enclosed space. The four year-old with the ‘born to rock’ T shirt was still running around in front of the stage.
Someone was getting a Shiatsu head and neck message. It is strange how atmosphere’s change over the day, as time takes a break at festivals and live music.  What is better than an excellent musician, renowned guitarist Preston Reed who played powerhouse guitar rhythms, and a time to relax and chill...http://www.mugstock.org/

My personal highlights were the chilled moments with Preston Reed's dynamic guitar playing, the effervescence of Mikey 9s dancing sound, crazy slide guitar of Dave Acari, the energy of Dodgy’s classic rock and the dancing fun of
Overall a highly professional and well organised new festival. Many congratulations to the festival teams hard work pulling it all together!
