VIKING GALAXY in the Studio

VIKING GALAXY in the Studio Febrary 2011 - great fun!
So interesting to see how it all works, they were on great form and managed to get 5 songs recorded in one day.

VIKING GALAXY

Formed in 2008, Viking Galaxy remained fairly low key, with the exception of the band members' excessive promotion of the band's brilliance. Until now! 2010/2011 will forever be remembered as the year when Viking Galaxy, inspired by their Nordic ancestors, conquered the world once again!

Clare Maguire

I saw Clare at the Oran Mor Glasgow supporting Hurts in October 2010. She surprised us with her bright red outfit and soaring voice!  I thought that her songs might have been stronger though. Maguire is an English singer-songwriter who was signed to Universal in 2008, her debut album, 'Light After Dark' was released in February 2011.

London Art

I was down in London Town twice last year - for Art. These shots were taken in November as the evening sun was hitting both Big Ben and the Nelson monument, and taken from the steps of the National Galleries.  What a view. You could spend all day in the galleries, what a collection! When I left a while later I felt quite overcome with the emotions of it all and all that went into the works exhibited, from the past great masters.  In May, for a brilliant sunny weekend, I was also down and visited the Drawing exhibition at the British museum (which included Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo) - truly inspiring. . ..

Emeli Sande at King Tuts

I first took shots of Emeli at the Oran Mor 2007 - she was attracting attention then for her big soul voice. Since then she has had several chart hit singles - and worked with artists both in London and the US. She states her music as soul and rock with an edge. It was nice to meet her and have a chat at her King Tuts rehearsal in November 2010.

Snow shades

In December 2010 Scotland had some of the heaviest snow falls in living memory - the main motorway between Edinburgh and Glasgow came to a stand still. The winter colours in the low light though were quite wonderful - vivid yet subtle.
